Description
Palau SDA School System has 2 schools. Theelementary schoolhasabout240 studentsto the south on Koror island.Thehigh schoolis further northinAiraiandhasabout 120 students.Thetwo schoolsarea20 minutedriveapart.Palau is known to beone ofthe world’s best diving locationswith the optionsto divewith manta rays,amongwreckage fromWWII,or along the outer walls of the barrier reef.Jellyfish Lake is one of Palau’s most famous attractionswhere tourists can go swimin the lake with themillions of golden jellyfish.

| Language | Palauan is the local language spoken on Palau. However, all teaching is done in English and most locals also speak English. |
| Timeline | Full year and semester options are available. The call typically begins at the end of July or the beginning of August. There is a required training in Hawaii at the beginning of the school year. School ends the last week of May and the SMs usually leave a few days after senior graduation. |

Volunteers are responsible for their own food. The schoolalsohas acafeteria that provides meals for $3 a meal.There aretwo maingrocery storesin Koror. The restaurants mainly serve a variety of Asian and American food in addition to fish.There are vegetarian options available at the stores and restaurants.
Student missionaries live in apartments on the high school campus.Anywhere from 2-4 people live in each apartment withair conditioning.The kitchen comes with a stove, oven, fridge, sink, and necessary dishes and appliances. The bathrooms have a shower, toilet, and sink.Bedrooms are supplied with beds,mattresses, drawer space, and closets. There is a washer and dryerin a separate areafor the SMs to use.
