Springing into spring season

Wolves set records at Walla Walla’s golf invitational

On March 28–29, Walla Walla University held a golf tournament at the Wine Valley Golf Course. About nine different schools attended including Multnomah University, Bushnell University, Montana Tech University, Lewis and Clark State, and Corban University. Both WWU women’s and men’s teams set program records at this initial tournament of the spring season.

Grayse Fa’asua, freshman, scored the lowest individual tournament score in program history, carding 20 over par at the 36-hole course. Her 9-over in the second round tied with the second lowest-ever individual round record as well.

Bryson Collins, junior business major, mentioned, “the girls team continues to break records and push the guys to do the same.” Collins finished 5 over at the 54-hole course with a 2-under in the final round, the lowest tournament score in program history. He also contributed to lowest-ever team round (8-over) and second-lowest 54-hole score in the tournament.

“Many of the players and coaches mentioned several times that our tournament was perfectly run and the course is amazing, wanting to come back next year,” Collins described. He has made a personal goal for the spring season to lower his 54-hole finish and scores each tournament.

Our wolves will be attending Conference Championships on April 25–26 at Eagle Point Golf Club in Eagle, Oregon. Stay up to date with golf and other athletic news at https://uwolves.com/.
